- Facial treatments are a very important part of skincare. They consist of gentle skin cleaning, refreshing, massage and masks. They are not only relaxing, but facials cleanse and moisturize the face to make your skin feel and look fresh. The products used are different for dry, oily and combination skin, which is the most common skin type. Facials are very pleasurable, not expensive and they are a nice start to taking care of your skin.
- BOTOX (Dysport, Xeomin) injections are designed to target specific areas such as crow’s feet, frown and forehead lines. The presence of these lines can add years to your appearance, often making us look angry, tired or worried. BOTOX can help you control your facial expressions and prevent new lines from forming because it relaxes the muscles. BOTOX as well as other Botulinum Toxins is a purified protein that is administered in a simple, nonsurgical procedure (often called a “lunchtime” procedure). It temporarily reduces frown lines and wrinkles by causing muscles to relax so that the skin appears smoother. Although the results of BOTOX are visible, there will be no radical change to your facial appearance, and you will not look as if you've had “work done." The muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you will still be able to frown or look surprised without resulting in wrinkles or creases. No sedation or local anesthetic is required, so you will be able to continue with all your usual activities immediately after your BOTOX treatment.
- When we are young, an abundance of two important substances, collagen and hyaluronic acid, keep our skin looking smooth and supple. With time, sunlight and other factors cause the collagen and hyaluronic acid in our skin to diminish. The skin loses structure and volume, and unwelcome lines and wrinkles appear. Hyaluronic acid, the magic potion of youth, is a natural sugar found in all cells that attracts and binds water, hydrating the skin and giving it volume. Common areas of treatment are between the eyebrows, from the wing of the nose to the mouth, and the wrinkles around the lips and the eyes. Other sites can also be treated, including giving the lips more volume. Wrinkle filler treatments are different from BOTOX injections. BOTOXis a protein that is injected into the muscles to relax them, whereas wrinkle fillers are injected just below a wrinkle in order to "fill" it in which smooths the surface of the skin. The Center is using generic fillers that are as effective, but not overly expensive: Singfiller, Hayluronan.
- Microdermabrasion is the most effective non-surgical procedure for treating aging, brown spots, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scars and sun-damaged skin. A simple instrument combines light suction with a spray of fine crystals that pass quickly across the skin. This light abrasion stimulates circulation beneath the skin’s surface, so it looks and feels renewed. Microdermabrasion is a mild, yet highly effective, procedure that painlessly exfoliates skin while stimulating circulation and collagen production. It has been clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven pigmentation, uneven texture, acne, scars, age spots and sun-damaged skin.
Chemical peels use a chemical solution to remove the top layers of damaged skin. The new cells form tighter, younger-looking skin. Peels can be used to help restore wrinkled, sun-damaged, or blemished skin. There are different types of peels using different acids, but all of them provide brightening, tightening and that glow that you desire, especially if you have an upcoming event or just want to reveal more youthful skin. It is suitable for all skin types and improves clarity, color and skin texture. A chemical peel is great for the first-time chemical peel patient, or if you are looking for a gentle, superficial treatment.
SCULPTRA is a sculpting agent, poly-L-lactic acid, which restores volume to correct the signs of facial fat loss. Facial fat loss, or lipoatrophy, is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks and hollow eyes. Scupltra provides an increase in skin thickness, helping to create a more natural facial appearance in those with facial lipoatrophy.
SCULPTRA is different from other fillers.The effects are long-lasting: they were shown in a clinical study to last for up to 2 years after the first treatment session. The results from SCULPTRA are not immediate; there is a gradual increase in skin thickness. At your first treatment visit, it may appear that SCULPTRA has worked immediately because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute SCULPTRA. In a few days, the swelling goes down and the water is absorbed by your body. SCULPTRA then takes time to gradually correct the depressions in your skin. Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions.

MESOTHERAPY is a series of micro-injections with a mixture of vitamins and natural products stimulating the reconstruction of damaged skin layers, both in depth and at the surface. Dr. Michel Pistor, a French physician, pioneered MESOTHERAPY in the 1950’s. It is a painless injection of vitamins, minerals, hyaluronic acid, and amino acids just under the surface of the skin. Mesotherapy has a variety of applications including rejuvenation of the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. Just a “drop” of solution is used at each injection site. MESOTHERAPY can decrease wrinkles, regenerate skin, improve skin tone, improve skin texture and enhance skin contour. In addition to all of its other treatment applications, MESOTHERAPY is effective at treating sagging skin in the face and neck regions of the body. MESOTHERAPY treatments to the face and the neck can result in a more youthful and glowing appearance.
Fat melting injections is a type of mesotherapy. Multiple injections of fat melting materials increase fat metabolism and skin tightening. A fat melting injection cocktail consists of various products which influence the skin and fat metabolism: vitamins, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, iodine, mustard, proteins, and other substances. Fat melting injections are effective with body wraps, controlled diet and active exercises. Our Center will be using Growth Hormone and HCG for fat melting effect.
Blood injections (platelet rich plasma) are becoming more and more popular. Blood is the best youth potion and naturally refreshes and rejuvenates your skin. Blood /Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy involves injection of your face with your own blood and plasma, rich with platelets and fibrin, for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles or scars in the face, hands, and neck. Known to some as the "vampire facelift", it is less invasive than plastic surgery, takes about 20 minutes for each treatment, and offers improvements for up to 18 months. There is some downtime after blood injections. Bruises might appear, but they are resolved within a week or two leaving your face new and refreshed.
Thread Lift or PDO (Polydioxanone) Thread Lift, is a minimally invasive procedure with very little to no downtime, offering a subtle and natural looking facial lifting which stimulates the regeneration of collagen and elastin over the course of approximately 8 months and may last up to 2 years. PDO Threads promote increased skin rejuvenation; skin lifting, brightened skin tone, increased volume, and ultimately improvement in skin wrinkles. The use of PDO Threads may show visible results of rejuvenation and pathological stimulation of as much as 100% new collagen.

GENERAL QUESTIONS RELATED TO MediSpa treatments
Regenerative injections should be performed by a licensed physician. Aesthetic skin care should be done by a licensed aesthetician. If you wish to have specific information relating to your care, please come and see us for a free consultation.
Just think, in less than an hour, you can say goodbye to unwanted lines and wrinkles like the smile lines that appear between your nose and mouth, or the marionette lines that turn down the corners of your mouth.
This is very individual depending on how sensitive to pain you are. The injections may prick a little, but normally no anesthesia is needed for the treatment of wrinkles. Lip treatment can be quite uncomfortable and therefore a freezing product such as Lidocaine (dental freezing) may be injected prior to the treatment. Your healthcare provider may apply a topical or local anesthetic.
Our healthcare providers will answer all of your questions and prepare you for the treatment:
- Make-up will be removed.
- The area where the injections will be given will be cleaned with an antiseptic.
- You and our healthcare providers will determine if a topical or local anesthetic is needed.
- Therapeutic material will be injected in small amounts into the skin using a very fine needle. Several injections might be needed.
- An ice pack should be applied to the treatment area to help reduce swelling.
- After the treatment session, the area should be thoroughly massaged to distribute the product evenly.
Immediately following a treatment session, redness, swelling, pain, bruising or all of these signs can occur at the treatment area. These usually go away in a few hours to a few days. Our healthcare provider will give you specific post-treatment care instructions. You should massage the treated area a few times each day for several days after the treatment session. Within the first 24 hours after treatment, an ice pack should be applied to the treatment area for a few minutes at a time to help reduce swelling. Wrap the ice in a cloth and avoid putting ice directly on your skin. Avoid excessive sun and UV lamp exposure until any initial swelling and redness has resolved.
Rejuvenative facial injections are simple office procedures. Most patients feel comfortable resuming their normal activities immediately following treatment. Temporary puffiness of the treated areas, however, should be expected. As with any injection, you may also notice temporary redness, slight bruising and tenderness around the treatment sites. To lower the incidences of bruising, avoid using the following for one week before treatment: Aspirin, Motrin or Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Green Tea, or Anticoagulants. You are free to eat, drink, or wear makeup or sun block shortly after treatment.
Most patients feel comfortable going back to their normal activities following treatment.
